Streamline is a powerful tool that helps users overcome the challenges of feeling disorganized and overwhelmed while job hunting. It provides a single platform to keep track of job applications, interviews, and deadlines, helping users land their dream job more efficiently.

The browser extension integration with popular job search engines such as LinkedIn, Glassdoor, and Indeed ensures that users never miss an opportunity.

OVERVIEW

RESEARCH

USER INTERVIEW GOALS AND FINDINGS

The objective of our interviews was to gain deeper insights into the pain points associated with utilizing various job search websites and to identify other areas within the job search process that pose significant challenges.

SAMPLE INTERVIEW QUESTIONS

  1. Do you currently have any organizational practices regarding job search and if so what are they?

  2. What are the current pain points with the apps/websites you are using?

  3. How do you feel your job search process could be improved, if at all?

  4. Are there any services that current apps/websites do not offer that you wish they did? Why?

AFFINITY MAPPING

USER PERSONA

Meet Aurora

Aurora is a 22-year-old who just graduated from university as an undergraduate student. She is currently working on finding a job and is having difficulty keeping everything organized.

Quote

“It would be great to have a way to organize everything I need to get done”

“It’s hard for me to find the motivation to create a spreadsheet to keep track of all the places I’ve applied to”

Bio and Demographics

Aurora just turned 22. Currently, she is unemployed and spends her free time hanging out with friends and playing on her co-ed volleyball team through the Boulder recreation center. She still lives in her college town, Boulder, CO with her 3 other roommates.

Personality Traits

Aurora is an extremely extroverted person. Throughout her undergrad, she was a sister and the social chair of Chi Omega. She is extremely impulsive and isn’t great at organizing or planning for herself.

6. Goals and Needs

Aurora hopes to find a UI/UX Design position and work for a company whose mission she aligns with, but before she can do that she really just wants to find an entry-level position that will help her reach that goal.

Motivations, Frustrations, and Design Problem

Aurora’s biggest problem right now is that she has missed opportunities because she has been unable to organize the job acquisition process. She forgets where she has applied and what she needs to submit for each job application.

USER INTERVIEW

My team and I conducted both moderated and unmoderated user interviews, which provided us with valuable insights into four primary areas: dashboard comprehensiveness, job pages, calendar feature, and notifications. During the interviews, we probed about navigation, user experience, and areas for improvement across the board.
